Agu Risky and de Lovers International Band

Well, here's a band i'm sure you haven't heard of before (prove me wrong and send me some music..).At first you wonder when this intro is going to end and the song will take off, but gradually you'll begin to appreciate it. I hope you like it too, and if you have any background, just let me know.

Highlife Haven,
Where the hell did you find this ultra rare LP? It was sang in Ibo language. I wonder how many Igbo people would even decipher one of the strangest dialect in Igbo land? This is sang in Abriba (Abiliba or Abliba?) dialect of the old Imo State of Nigeria. If you know any Nigerian from Abriba, they will translate what Agu Risky was on about in this song. I have an idea and partially understand his Ibo dialect, but it would take me ages to translate all he was saying about a lady or girl who is a show-off, walking around with pride and arrogance, with Bob Marley type of braids etc! Very interesting jibes on 70s/80s Ibo girls!

agu risky is great. I think he owned a record store and ultimately had a record label that produced a number of interesting LP's. My favorite LP is Mummy Special.

nice catch

Adango was released around 1986/87. It was sang in Ukwani language , a tribe in present day Delta. Some people may classify the language as a dialect of Igbo, though it bears resemblance to it. But most Igbo people (those across river Niger) will not readily understand the language. But they can if they listen carefully.
This is not a full transaltion but just a guide.
Adango , you are spoilt.
Today you you say Peter is the most handsome and tomorrow it is Paul
This is better and that is better, Adango you are spoilt

You wear make up, and full of yourself

You wear cut-shoe and are arrogant

You are spoilt

You are sleeping are sleeping around with men..

It is a lovely song

Congrats Highlife Haven, you just sold this LP for $70 to some freak on ebay. I had to watch that listing out of sheer curiosity. Folks are psycho for spending this much cash on a record. Perhaps the gentlemen at good records will give you a commission. I bet those guys don't pay more than $2 an LP. Absurd.

Neato, I actually have another album from these guys with the exact same layout but with different tracks and a different catalog number. Interesting. The album I have is pretty fantastic.
